For those readers who also live in Southern Illinois, I just met with a wonderful Suzuki teacher in Murphysboro. Her name is Stephanie Wooley and her school Southern Illinois Suzuki Strings is hosting a parent discussion group on January 12 about the book Ability Development from Age Zero.
I bought the book and I'm very excited about reading it this weekend.
One of the things that I'm interested in is comparing it to the theories of child development used in Montessori education (Maria Montessori) and Waldorf education (Rudolf Steiner). Stephanie and I did talk about Steiner's view on waiting until the 9-year change to sing in rounds. It is so fun to discuss pedagogy!
