And Now I am 44

My very first post to this blog was about my birthday, way back in 2007. Back then, Natalie was 5. Leah was 3. Becca was 2.

Now, Zac is 4 and will be five next month. Natalie 18. Leah 16. Becca 15. And I am 44.

I always like to commemorate what happens on special days. Zac brought me a sticker (that he got from the dentist) for my birthday this morning. Then Natalie and Zac worked really hard in the garden to put together our painted pallet trellises for my tomato starts from LEAF and planted them. They look beautiful!

Natalie also made my birthday dinner: Tunisian Mushroom Stuffed Peppers with Creamy Tunisian Hummus Sauce & Feta. And dessert, of course: Avocado Chocolate Mousse. And she and I stayed up late and watched the Director's Cut of 1776.

Tomorrow the plan is to build a huge chalkboard fantasy fort in Zac's bedroom and he wants to decorate it all over with birthday drawings.

Also, my mom gave me the brand-brand-new board game (won't be released until April 29th) Oceans from the Evolution series by North Star Games. We have all of the games in this series, and they have all come from my mom! Whenever they are planning a new one, she hops right on Kickstarter to lend her support. She actually mailed Oceans to me in March but we waited until my birthday to open it. Natalie and I are looking forward to playing it!

And Zac is planning to gather dandelion blossoms so that we can make a Dandelion Maple Syrup Cake with Buttercream Icing tomorrow as well. I'm fortunate that my birthday fell over the weekend, so I didn't have to work. And we had beautiful weather too!
