MEGA Mathematics
Try this fun site for lots of logic games and math puzzles that are related to real world situations (like the mathematics of knots). It's a great teacher resource! The site is divided into several different types of puzzles, such as a coloring section. There's math involved in coloring in maps and determining the minimum number of colors that can be used. I remember this vividly from elementary school. Born in Mississippi, I chose that state to do a report on in 4th grade. I had no idea Mississippi had so many counties (over 80) and it was a real pain to color in that map. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Each portion of the website is then broken down into activities, vocabulary, background info, big ideas, evaluation, and even a section relating to the NCTM standards. Enjoy!
