Shapes & Number Patterns

Complete teaching notes for what we did each day in this main lesson block are on the website; here are some pictures:


starting out with patterns by reading Pattern Fish


working on the Decanomial Paper


carefully coloring the rows, visually representing the times tables of
1 x 1 up to 10 x 10

practicing skip counting with the Bead Bar Stamps

make a multiplication wheel with a square piece of cork
by spacing 10 nails evenly around a dinner plate

finding thread colors to match the Colored Bead Material

bobbins for weaving the multiples of each number on the wheel

finding patterns in the Hundred Board

using the Colored Bead Bars again as a manipulative to help with the
