Paper Dolls

The blizzard rages on -- school has been closed for the rest of the week -- and today is the first day I haven't let the children to go outside and play (what is the deal with this weather? I've never heard of Freezing Fog before in my life) so boredom is slowly setting it. Oh, yes, you can wash and put away all the laundry, scrub the bathroom floor, bake bread and make cookies, read stories and braid hair, and run around playing Marching Band and so on all you like... but at some point people just get bored when they've been at home for days and days.

Time for Paper Dolls!!!!

Here's a FANTASTIC group of links I found while searching online. They are live as of today but I found a lot of paper doll sites that were broken and some that crashed my computer so if you decide to search for more, be careful. I recommend this site hands down. If you find a doll template that you LOVE, better print it out now and save the pdf on your computer so you have it for the next Snow Day.

Paper Doll Links

Betsy McCall vintage paper dolls - these are 50s, 60s, and 70s vintage magazine pages with beautiful full-color paper dolls and clothing which you can download as pdfs, cut out, and enjoy!

Natalie doesn't know I'm looking these up online; she is using the template from her Childcraft "Make and Do" volume #11 to make her own and is perfectly content. But maybe I'll surprise her with some new ones later on today.

Of course, Dover makes beautiful books of paper dolls from many different cultures and time periods. We have some but they are so lovely, I won't let the girls cut them up. :-)

Our President's Day weekend has now stretched to an unbelievable 11-day vacation. Hurrah for Lincoln and Geo. Washington being born in the month of February!
