Class Dismissed: A Film About Learning Outside of the Classroom

Little Bluestem will be hosting two screenings of Class Dismissed: A Film About Learning Outside of the Classroom at the Carbondale Public Library on Thursday, Feb 22nd at 5:30 pm and on Saturday, Feb 24th at 3 pm.

I'm not an unschooler but I am letting my 8th grader have a lot of say in what she works on this year, and I'm really enjoying watching her!!! Here are some pictures of her a few days ago, delightedly opening her two new boxes: the Intermediate Dissection Kit (this complete dissecting kit has 7 preserved specimens: frog, perch, crayfish, grasshopper, earthworm, clam, and starfish; also has dissecting tools & guides for all... from Home Science Tools) and the vintage slide rule (with instruction manual... from eBay).
