The colorful border around the edge matches the colors of the Montessori Colored Globe of the Continents. North America is the orange continent.
I are using these cards in a small group setting, to introduce the new biome before we hear some legends that take place in it. The children were very familiar with the animals of the Temperate Forest of North America (the biome we live in), and much less familiar with the animals of other places.
These biome cards have a plant, an invertebrate, a fish, an amphibian, a reptile, a bird, and a mammal. They are available for ALL of the continents!
Although I love pairing the Native American Legends with these cards, I also keep thinking of other resources that connect with them, in case students use them for research and reports in later years. Now I'd like to make a list of all the cards in each set, so that I can keep my notes organized here.
