Art History - Banksy

In my Art History 2024-2025 blog post, I decided May would be Banksy. Here are some resources and my planning notes:

I recommend joining Lotus Stewart's Art History Kids website (The Studio) and getting access to her past lesson plans. I like her work, and find it's really helpful to have so many ideas that I can use as a jumping off point.

OR is the art the act of shredding the painting?

how to do our final graffiti activity????

with washable paint on the tree trunks?

with dry erase markers on the windows?

alongside parents as the "epic play" activity at our End of Year Party?

with chalks on student individual chalkboards (15 inch x 20 inch)?

with chalks on the Hearthsong Chalkboard Fantasy Fort Kit panels?

In addition to the Art History lesson for my regular school group (age 7-13), I'll have a Monday afternoon Art History class for early childhood (age 5-7). I think the "littles" will love Banksy!

Note: For their culminating activity, we read The Quiet Place by Sarah Stewart and they made box forts and decorated them with stencils. For an extra "spatial skills" challenge, I broke all the boxes down first and they had to look at a flattened box and try to figure out if they would fit inside it!
