Gelatos

Today in Art History (Giuseppe Arcimboldo) we did Produce Portraits. Lettuces are so beautiful when you stop and look at them!

We used watercolor paper and water-soluble oil pastels for this project. These pastels are so rich and creamy, but also deliciously blendable. My favorite brand is Iron Orchid Designs but they don't make them anymore!

So Faber-Castell Gelatos are a good substitute. Gelatos come in twist-up tubes, somewhat like lip balm, which keeps your hands clean. They are available in lots of yummy colors. Here is what I could find on Amazon:
