Most children are opting to read their Colonial America research materials as their SSR choice. There have also been a lot of meetings in the driveway and whole group brainstorm sessions
- - drawing maps of where to set up the tables on the day of the event
- sketching drafts of the signs that will hang outside each shop
- researching and choosing names that are historically accurate
- considering whether each presenter should also have an apprentice
We have also arranged a special guest to come and talk about Glassblowing!
The Glassblower
by Christine Petersen
If your child is this group, see if you can figure out which profession he/she is choosing to research and present. And here is the list of resources so far.
Other options for Independent Work Time for the older group are Math (Techniques of Problem Solving decks), Handwork (knitted animals or counted cross-stitch), and the Mapping/World Geography main lesson books.
