This year it occurred to me that it would be nice if we had portfolio boxes. Imagine a tidy box, decorated by the child, for all of the MLBs and the plan book for that grade level. You could have them in a nice stack in your closet as the years go by, instead of a bin per kid with the MLBs jumbled together (which is what I have right now for my children).
So I went searching for something that would work.
The Mercurius MLBs I prefer are 32 x 24 cm (12.6 x 9.45 in), so a box that is 13 x 10 inches would be best for us. A height of 3 inches instead of 2 would allow for lots of student work without any crowding. So I found these!

Now, granted it's $121.70 for a pack of 50 (a little less than $2.50 apiece) so that would be a significant expense for just one family to bear. But I could get them and use them for our homeschool co-op children. I can also use them to organize Natalie, Leah, and Becca's MLBs by school year. And, of course, if anyone from our homeschool co-op would like one (or more) for their child's work from previous years, I would be happy to provide them!
Note: if you wanted to get the kind that close on the sides (this is called a deluxe literature mailer), they are available in a 13 x 13 x 3 inch size. They are thirty dollars more expensive. $151.71 for a pack of 50.
